Haircut
Dillon's hair has been looking a little shaggy lately and, not wanting to be a nag, I kept dropping subtle hints and asking him if he wanted help cutting it. Well the other day we were both home from school for the day and he came walking out of the bathroom looking like this (the first picture). I dunno if you can really see it but he had cut it, only the sides about 2 inches back. lol. He thought it was pretty funny so we decided to have some fun with it. He wondered how much trouble he could get into for wearing it like this to class. Don't worry...after a few laughs and cutting a little more here and a little less there, we finally just buzzed it all so he once again looks normal! :)
But man...is it just me or is he really the best looking man out there?!?!?! I mean, look at those eyes. But then again, I am just a little partial! :)

Preschool
So, we are down to our last 2 1/2 weeks of preschool! I can't believe the semester has gone this fast. My life has been ALL preschool this semester and it has been great, tiring and trying but still great. I come home laughing (maybe so I don't cry some days) all the time and decided to share some of the laughs with all of you. At the bottom of our page I posted some of the recent laughs. Keep checking back and I'll try to update often because heaven knows there will be something to add everyday! :) I LOVE preschoolers! HAHAHAHAHA, kids really do say/do the darndest things.
*Note: Some of the things aren't EXACTLY how things went down (my memory's not that good) but close enough that you get the point.

my new favorite....
* Fruit Salsa and Cinnamon Chips *
Sat morning when I was cooking breakfast I was waiting for the bacon to unthaw in the microwave and realized that I had never looked through some recipes I got for my bridal shower. So I was looking through them and came along this Fruit Salsa and Cinnamon Chips recipe. It sounded SO tasty and SO summery and it was! I made it last night and YUM YUM YUM!!! Dillon wasn't actually so much of a fan because of all the different fruit tastes together and eaten on cinnamon, but I was ok with that...more for me! Dillon did want to try it more empanada style (well sort of like an empanada). He spread some cream cheese on a tortilla, filled the tortilla with the salsa, rolled it up, and fried it in some melted butter. When it was crispy took it out and sprinkled some cinnamon sugar on the top. Like I said, he wasn't a big fan but again, I thought it was DELICIOUS! After that I even dipped some of the chips in the cream chesse then in the salsa. So if you have the summer munchies, give it a try!Fruit Salsa
1 cup finely chopped strawberries
3 med kiwifruit, peeled and chopped
1 can (8 oz) crushed pineapple, drained
1 can (I think it was 11 oz) finely chopped mandarine oranges
1 Tbsp lemon juice
1 1/2 tsp sugar
Cinnamon Chips
1/4 cup melted butter
1/3 cup sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
*Brush tortillas with butter, combine cinnamon and sugar, sprinkle over melted butter, cut into wedges (pizza cutter works great). Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 for 10 mins or until crisp
ENJOY!
*Thank you for the recipe Nield Family!!!

News...
Just so everyone knows, Moe died today. I have been home all day today, due to the flu, and looked over from the couch to see him sucking the top of the water and decided I should probably feed him (not remembering if I did yesterday). I fed him and about 2 hours later Dillon came home...was sitting with me on the couch and looked over to Moe's bowl and said "Oh no, Mohawk is dead!!" He wasn't quite floating on the top yet, more just a dive bomb look at the bottom of the bowl so Dillon tried stirring him around a little bit with a staw to get his blood flowing again or something, lol, and nothing. So we are once again petless. But hey.....it was fun the week it lasted!

Joining the Merrill family....
Meet Moe!
This is Moe. The other day in preschool we had a lesson on classroom pets and the teacher teaching bought some little goldfish to put in the sensory table for the kids to play with. At the end of the day she didn't want them so me and another teacher offered to take them. Out of the 20 original fish she bought, 8 survived. Moe is now the only survivor of the whole crew! Of the 4 I brought home 1 was dead by the time I got home and the other 2 were gone by the end of the night. We didn't name him but since he was still alive yesterday it was time to name him. Dillon picked the name without even a second thought...Moe. Moe seems very fitting given the black stripe on his back that resembles a mohawk.
