When Dillon works.....

So sometimes when Dillon is at work (ok, most ALL the time) I get really really really REALLY bored! When I get like this I call my old roommate Marlaina and make her either come here and play with me or I go over there and hang out with her and her roommates. Last night I got bored real quick and headed over to Mar's just shortly after Dillon left. I was sitting in her kitchen looking through ads she had just gotten in the mail and found some plates in the ad for Bed, Bath, and Beyond that you can color on. They were only $5 and I still had like 3 giftcards to that store left from our wedding so me and Mar jumped in the car and dashed to IF to pick some up. Mar needed to go to WalMart while we were down there so I ended up picking up a frozen pizza to come home to cook and take to my poor working husband for dinner. I was really excited about this particular find because the pizza was a chicken, bacon, ranch pizza....just like the kind they stopped making for us at Craigos!! (Yes, it was our favoirte and we were/are bitter! lol) While the pizza cooked this is what me and Mar created....It was so fun and I think they turned out SO cute! :) When we got the plates we noticed they had mugs that you can draw on too....so we had to get some of those too!
Mar actually colored the mugs for us while I colored our plates because she wanted to save her mug to color later. Once they were finished we loaded Dillon's plate up with pizza and grabed the mug and headed to visit him. I hurried and filled the mug with Mt Dew from the fountain machine and handed him his meal. I think he liked them!

Thanks Mar for playing with me and being my midget friend! :)

Revenge...

Yesterday I spent a lot of the day spring cleaning. Well since our apt isn't all that big it really didn't take me too long but I did find a lot of garbage, specifically a pile of papers from Dillon's classes last semester. They were from classes that he REALLY REALLY hated (like Physics, Chemistry, and Microbiology) so he wanted to burn them. Well at the end of last semester there was obviously way too much snow so he kept them to burn at a later time, that time was yesterday. We gathered all his old hmk and hmk from this semester that just ended plus some other garbage and headed out. He even had a few bottles in his trunk (don't judge us by the labels, he got them from work specifically to shoot, lol) and we went at it. We started off not being very good aims but ended on a pretty good note! :) It was a lot of fun and Dillon really enjoyed seeking revenge on all the stress and hard work he put into those "dumb classes." Although, I do have to say....we didn't pick the best of days to start a fire. We both did a lot of running around to chase down bits of paper of fire (don't worry, we got them all and destroyed all evidence.....just in case!) It was a fun day and nice to finally spend some time outside with my hubby! Today has been spent stressing out over jobs and applying pretty much EVERYWHERE that even has the slightest chance of hiring (nothing too promising and all "ehh" jobs, nothing fun). UGH....I HATE job hunting and really hope to find something soon.

Easter Weekend

Last weekend (Easter) was full of food, family and lots and lots of fun! We headed out sat morning for little miss Abbi Jo’s baptism in SV. I still can’t believe she is old enough to be baptized but it was a great day and she looked so pretty! :) After the baptism we headed over to the fire station for some grub and to let the little ones play on all the old fire trucks. They even got to take a ride around town on the big fire truck thanks to fireman JR. Sat night the little ones came over to gma’s and we got to dye some Easter eggs! They LOVED it and we all had fun helping and watching them. Easter Sunday was another great day filled with lots and lots of food. Homemade cinnamon rolls, Easter dinner (ham, rolls, funeral potatoes, salads, deviled eggs), lots of candy, desserts and lots more! YUM YUM YUM! Monday we got to sleep in and hang out. My mom helped me make some really cute headbands (thanks mommy!), we got to hang out with Payzli and make some smoothies, play some WII and just chill. Later that afternoon we left SV and made the trek to Provo. I have actually never made that drive and neither had Dillon, obviously, and we both decided that we could live in Heber City. It was so pretty and had lots of open space on the outskirts of town where we could live….maybe one day! :) We got to Provo around 8pm and jumped right into the Hotel pool with most of the Merrill family and let me tell you, all those little Merrill cousins LOVE Dillon! (He was a little sore that night and the next day! Hehehe) The next morning we got up and headed to Dillon’s cousin’s funeral. (If you want to read his obit click here http://ads.heraldextra.com/articles/2009/04/12/obituaries/341463.txt). Cameron has been battling cancer for the past 2 years and after an intense last 4 months or so, he lost the battle. I never got to meet Cameron before he passed but I can tell you, just from the funeral, that he was an AMAZING person. The funeral was wonderful! It was really good to spend time with everyone and meet the rest of the Merrill family that I hadn’t met yet. All but one of the Merrill cousins were there except one (Kyle is on his mission in Germany) and all the aunts, uncles, great uncles, grandparents, everyone was there. It was a very emotional, spiritual, uplifting and fun day and then it was back to Rexburg! Here are just some of the pictures of our fun times.

Oh...those bead watches are just a few of the collection my sister Heather has made. They are all so adorable and very very well priced (compare to Bumble watches)! If you are interested in one click here www.simplyusboutique-beads.blogspot.com and you can see some of the other watches she has made. She has TONS of beads to choose from and TONS of different watches faces to choose! She gave me one for my birthday and I LOVE it! Just a little plug..... :)

The end...

Preschool is officially over! Thurs was my last day as a head teacher and yesterday was the last day of my internship. I can't believe that it is already over... time FLEW this semester. This semester was frustrating, stressful, busy, and SO much fun! My girls in T/Th lab were the best. I couldn't have picked a better group of girls to work with. They all took initiative to get things done, worked hard and even had a little time to have some fun! :) Thank you girls for all your hard work and for making my job so much fun! We are going to have a BLAST cleaning on Tues!

The little boys I worked with MWF were so sweet and I'm really going to miss them! When one of the boys was leaving yesterday his mom handed me a bag with this in it....
I almost cried! Even though there were days that I came home frustrated and wanted to give up, feeling like I wasn't making any sort of difference, I am SO grateful for everything I learned about autism, about myself and about these amazing little boys!

I now officially only have to go onto the BYU-Idaho campus 2 more times, Monday to help a professor grade some big projects and Tuesday to do our lab cleaning. HOLY cow, I am DONE!!! Now...anyone know of a job here in the Rexburg area?????

Bday fun!

So, as most of you know, since it was my dad's bday yesterday that means it was my bday also. Yes I was born on my daddy's birthday and have celebrated it with him just about every year since. For my birthday this year we got to celebrate at my house with my family, here at our apt together and then again at Dillon's house with his family. WOW, lots of bday fun! Well, this weekend at my house was A LOT of fun!
We did a little fingernail painting.....
a little wrestling... (i think it's sufficient to say Dillon won!)
a little messy eating...
played a little Rock Band...

opened a few presents....

snitched a little cake....

blew out a lot of candles...
and watched A WHOLE LOT of snow fall...
Needless to say it was a great time with my family but not a lot of fun driving back in the yucky weather. My actual bday was a good day too. It kinda just felt like any other day but it was still good. I went to preschool and got sang to twice (once by the other teachers and once by the kids), came home and found my presents and card from my wonderful hubby, yes I still think he's wonderful even though he spelled my name wrong on my bday card! (Don't tell him I told on him, he was embarrassed. HAHAHA) Once Dillon got home he let me open my presents, (note the cute new swimsuit and shirt to show you a few), then even got to take a little nap while he did homework. Then last night we headed down to IF and went to dinner with Dillon's whole fam at Texas Roadhouse... yummy yummy! Then it was off to his parents house to open more presents, soak in the hot tub for about 2 hours, and eat more cake (that Dillon made might I add. What a cutie!!) All in all it was a GREAT bday! Thank you everyone for the birthday wishes and presents!
LOVE YOU ALL
