6 months already

I can't believe it....yesterday was Dillon and I's 6 month anniversary! Like Gabe told me yesterday, "It's like today is your anniversary and yesterday was your anniversary...it went that fast!" :) I, like Gabe, can't believe it has been that long yet I can't believe it has only been that long! I really kinda feel like we have been together forever and I wouldn't have it any other way. I also can't believe how blessed I am to have found such an amazing man to take care of me and love me. He is such a great man and does so much for me everyday! Thank you honey for being so good to me and for loving me so much! I love you with all my heart and can't wait to see what the future holds for us and I'm so excited to spend the rest of forever with you. I LOVE YOU DILLON!

Starting a new adventure

Today was the first day of my internship, for real. I was kind of supposed to start last Friday because it was the preschool openhouse and the children were welcome to come for about an hour to see the classroom and meet their teachers but neither of the boys I am working with came. So today was the first actual day of preschool and oh man...........this really is the start of a new adventure that might just be a little bit tougher than I thought, but it is going to be very rewarding as well. Both of the little boys I'm working with are SO SO SO cute and I'm super excited to see how they learn, grow and progress over the next 2 1/2 months or so. The highlight of my day was when I was supposed to be on my little lunch break and I was informed that the mom of one of the little boys in my class had called the lab manager and told her that this little boy's little sister (who had come to our open house yesterday) has Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease. Yeah.....so needless to say I spent my 2 hour break sanitizing my classroom and the toys we had out while she was in our classroom for the openhouse eventhough children (more, besides mine that were all around her yesterday) had used that classroom this morning and the toddler lab had already used the rice from the sensory table she was trying to eat while she was there. (But yes, we did throw it out before more people could use it). I knew it wasn't a funny situation but I couldn't help but laugh, maybe so I wouldn't cry? lol. But our lab manager and the professors over the preschool looked it up and called CDC and we don't need to worry too much unless we have an outbreak in one of our other kids. If you are like me and don't really know about Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease feel free to check this site out http://www.cdc.gov/ncidod/dvrd/revb/enterovirus/hfhf.htm. So yes, today was a great adventure and not necessarily the way I would have picked to start this internship and preschool semester. But now, after 11 1/2 hours on campus I am home gettin all my stuff ready to teach tomorrow. Wish me luck! :) Oh, and thanks so much to my amazing hubby who brought me lunch since I forgot to take food with me! LOVE YOU honey and wish you weren't at work.

Any ideas?

We need some help with some ideas. Some of you know that Dillon and I are primary teachers teaching the 11 year olds every other sunday. Well this Sat morning is a "Getting to Know Your Teachers Breakfast." All the teachers are supposed to bring a centerpiece introducing themselves and a couple of games to play with your kids to get to know eachother better. For the centerpiece I think I am going to use this cute little block (thanks Aunt Amy!) and put pictures of us on the wires. As far as for the games.......this is where I need some ideas. Anyone have some good get to know you games to play with about 13 VERY ROWDY 11 year olds???

Yesterday was a sad day

Yesterday was a very sad day for me. I had to get Idaho Plates for my car! :( As a wedding present my parents gave us the car that they got for me to drive in HS when the little jeep truck caught fire for the second time while I was driving. Well the plates expired the end of December and since I have an Idaho driver's license (another EXTREMELY sad day) and have the car it needed to be registered in Idaho. So...while in SV the title was signed over to me and Dillon and yesterday we went and registered it! UGH.....Idaho plates are SO UGLY! Dillon thought it was hilarious that I was so sad. He kept calling me his little Idaho girl and each time I would scream at him that I am NOT an Idaho girl, I am only currently living in Idaho and he would promptly remind me that it probably isn't a temporary thing. I honestly almost cried Dillon switched out my plates for me. Don't worry, the Wyoming plates are proudly displayed in our living room and there will ALWAYS be a Wyoming sticker in the window of my car. At least I get to keep my Wyoming plates. When I got my new license they stole my Wyoming one, SO RUDE! lol

*NOTE -- I was too lazy to get up and take a picture of my old and new plates and these are the best I could find online.

2009

We have now brought in the New Year! We didn't do much to celebrate since Dillon had to work that night and didn't get off until about 10:30pm. I had taken him to work and thus picked him up and headed to Shelley to celebrate the last few mins of 2008 with his family. We got there just in time to play "signs" with all the family there. We almost missed midnight but luckily Dillon's cousin blew a celebration horn to let us know it was 2009. The next morning we got up and left for SV. We spent our days sledding up the South End (we got some pretty funny movies of this but I am a bit of a dummy and can't get them to upload), playing games, and freezing. Rumor has it that Sunday morning at 8:30am it was -26. Just a tad chily. Thanks everyone for such a fun time during the holidays! :) Well, all the fun is over and reality is back. Dillon started his winter semester classes with archery this morning at 7:45. (Being the amazing wife I am I got up and made him breakfast then of course went back to bed! hehe) Personally I think he is a bit crazy for gettin up that early just for an archery class...but oh well, at least now he will be up gettin ready with me MWF's, but that won't be for a little while. Since my internship is working with 2 little boys, I can't start until they come to preschool which is in 1 1/2 weeks I believe. But I still have my headteaching job that is on Tues and Thurs, starting tomorrow morning. Although I'm not taking classes this semester is still going to keep me plenty busy...but I'm excited, it will be fun to be in preschool EVERYDAY!
